ALBUM PRESS:

"Jasager is absolutely devastating...screams channeling some serious Khanate vibes halfway through, whilst eerie vocals drift gracefully across the hypnotic Environs. Great stuff from two extremely promising bands who are both evolving into even heavier incarnations. 8/10."
- Kez Whelan, Terrorizer Magazine.

"The tracks on this side move from crushing to ethereal and back again across the course of 21 minutes, making for a compelling and exhausting journey. ‘Jasager’ opens up with a glorious sludge-y doom tone, all gritty growling guitars and massive tone driving a big lumbering riff that feels unstoppable. The first time that riff kicks in at about 40 seconds is the first time your jaw will hit the floor; there will be more times. It’s the sound of oppression and claustrophobia, distilled into one fuzzed up grind. The main song transitions away seamlessly into an elongated, almost ambient mid-section, almost devoid of percussion, with twisted, heavily distorted screamed vocals and occasional ghostly background vocals that creates an unsettling atmosphere, before smashing back into huge thundering riffs for a massive lumbering climax. ‘Environs’ doesn’t try to top the power of this; cleverly the song acts as a palette cleansing interlude, with an almost Godflesh style feel to the stripped back instrumental minimalism. Again, the feeling of claustrophobia is very much present, this time using the minimalism, repetition and infrequent quiet clean vocals to cause this effect, rather than volume. The calm is shattered by ‘Agalma’, opening with feedback and a disgustingly heavy opening riff. This time there is no let-up, no ambient mid-section, just seven and a half minutes of huge riffs and feedback. It’s fantastic; the sludge equivalent of a mic drop for Sonance to respond to."
- Andy Price, Echoes & Dust.

"This is one of the dirtiest albums I've heard...dripping with greasy crunch, gain for years, and enough aggression to start its own political movement. Torpor hits you with a mountain of solid feedback and heaving riffs, while Sonance give you a lovely cup of tea laced with arsenic and cocaine. These two bands hit you high and low, dragging you behind their vans to scrap all the skin from your body. In short, this is a monstrous album. It leaves you on the rocks, wracked with the darkness that lives inside your soul and stretched out, naked. It is a venture that you dare not take on lightly. Bring Friends! Share the Misery!"
- Hunter Young, The Sludgelord.

"Torpor’s excessively heavy, though still melodic, sludge really steals the show. They come off as an artsy, but still reserved Grief. Crushing, bottomless and intelligent."
- Invisible Oranges.

"Jasager is minimalistic and bleak, occasionally interspersed with oppressive feeling passages of ferocious riffs. This first track is nicely juxtaposed with Environs, a dreamy, ethereal soundscape of beauty tinged with shoegaze, allowing bassist Lauren Mason to showcase impressive clean vocals. Finally, Agalma mesmerises with cavernous deathliness, channelling likenesses to Thou with strangled guitars and barked vocals. An exciting look at what’s to come from this now trio."
- Angela Davey, The Sleeping Shaman.

"Both bands have the tones, the amazing bass rumble throughout, the subtle changes in rhythm and interesting riffs and melodies to keep me going for days.Truthseeker are 5 for 5 so far and show no signs of that changing. Buy this split and everything else from the label while you’re at it."
- 55Reviews

"This split 12" will keep you up at night, transfixed within their modern post-metal/doom utopia. Neither band has sounded better to these ears, both on upwards trajectories with sights on grand horizons."
- Ben Brown, Ninehertz.
